SCRAP TIME
[verse 1]
can i tell you it hurts
to be on your list
just another of a thousand items
that you have to do
i can see it's true
you fill up your life
with so much shit
that when i call
it always goes to voicemail
just another fail
[chorus]
i want to be more
and i want to mean more
yes i need to be more than
'drop off the laundry and go the store'
Why do I take
oh why do i take
why do i take
your scrap time?
why can't i mean
why can't i mean
as much to you
as you mean to me?
[verse 2]
do you realize that i cry
when i'm all alone
like your scorned little dog
begging at the door
how can you ignore?
so i'll write you a song
maybe you'll listen now
to what this cruel neglect does to me
I hope you feel guilty
[chorus]
i want to be more
and i want to mean more
yes i need to be more than
'drop of the laundry and go to the store'
Why do I take
oh why do i take
why do i take
your scrap time?
why can't i mean
why can't i mean
as much to you
as you mean to me?
(musical interlude)
[chorus]
i want to be more
and i want to mean more
yes i need to be more than
'rewrite my essay and read Sir Thomas More'
i just can't stop
i just can't stop
making my heart long to be with you
so i will keep on
i will keep on
savoring scrap time with you

Much better! That line at the end about Sir Thomas More is hilarious, even though I have no clue who he is or what it means. I think it injects a bit of sarcastic humor into the song. Now you gotta fix mine. Fix it, lyric goddess!
